SMALL INCISION MANUAL CATARACT SURGERY

The masterpiece is a hard cover, beautiful illustrated book of approximately 175 pages. The main purpose of the book is to enable every surgeon to master stage by stage the detailed procedure of the manual mini nuc and the phaco fracture technique. 

The authors of this book are recognized authorities in this field. Professor Michael Blumenthal, M.D. from Israel is the pioneer of many of the techniques here presented. For more than 30 years he has traveled the world teaching his Mini-Nuc technique. He is also a pioneer in helping others understand the fluidics and fluid dynamics which in turn control the quality and outcome of surgery, both in manual and phaco surgery. This part of the book will be of great use to all cataract surgeons, whether they use manual or phaco. The technical steps of Blumenthal´s Mini-Nuc technique discussed in Chapter 3 are masterful presentations of the steps that every cataract surgeon must understand, whether phaco or manual. His presentation of "Complications" in Chapter 4 and how to prevent them, as well as his discussion on "How to Manage Special Cases" constitute classic chapters that we should read because of the pearls we will find.
